Catton Hall - on 7th April, 2010

I went to Catton Hall, East Staffordshire, as I had passed by a few times and thought that it looked a splendid place for Little Owls (although I was concerned that they shoot here too). I didn't see any owls (maybe it was a bit cold and windy). However, although I have mixed feelings about pheasants, the cock pheasants are looking particularly fine at the moment - although I did not realise how scruffy they look when they spread their wings till I snapped one by accident!

A pair of Great Spotted Woodpecker were messing about in some trees fairly near to the road, although too far away for my lens to make much of.

  1. Both stunners are brilliant shots,
    cracking birds.
